Politics and hackers

Some hackers tend to be very liberal and some very conservative. People like Eric Raymond tend to be conservative and lean towards an Ayn Randian objectivist view(See Atlas Shrugged). As were some hackers such as Randall Munroe who has endorsed Obama as a presidential candidate in the 2008 American campaign. The Jargon File has an entry on hackers and politics. All though you may want to keep in mind that it is maintained by Eric S. Raymond.

A blog post for musing

Going through some blogs today, and I found some posts you guys might like. kasia in a nutshell has an interesting bit about her server getting hacked unix-girl.

Yeah I know, this is like a year old so sue me.

Actually female computer enthusiasts who are not fashionistas( see iJustine ) are hard to find.

Female Hacker Interview, Weekly segment.

I want to do a weekly interview for my blog with female Hax0rs, Just ask a few questions through IM at first then I will post it and be happy to do a link exchange or whatever, if your interested just shoot me an email. I am having some hard time finding female hackers. We will be having a podcast up and running shortly and we will shift it from IM to voice once that gets set up.

So I have been seeing a few posts lie "How do I hax my school", "I want to take down my schools network", and "CRUSH SCHOOL SMASH". And I have been giving suggestions but a lot of you guys are really showing a lack of creativity. Sure deleting the NTLDR off a computer is a hoot the first time, but you guys should really shoot for the stars. I am thinking turn the computer lab into a linux computer lab. Imagine how confused the teachers would be and the students, imagine how many people would know what linux is at your school afterwards. That's a huge fucking stunt and it's a fucking cool ass stunt as well. What about setting up your teacher's email client to send pr0ns to all the teachers and parents. If your going to fuck some shit up make some goddamn NOISE! Be awesome don't just delete ntldr, with some .bat some other fucker gave you from the net. Fucking show someone YOUR A FUCKING BAD ASS. HAX0R SOME SHIXOR. Ok, now go do it.

In lieu of this Bsdpunk.blogspot.com will be sponsoring a contest in which the top 3 coolest most extravagant school hacks will get a t-shirt and of course a blog post, but most of all the feeling of accomplishing an awesome hack.

How you avoided getting caught, or how you got caught.

I registered a channel in IRC

I registered an IRC channel on the chat4all.org servers:

You will have to point your client at them, the name of the room is #computer-punks.
Their isn't a lot of traffic right now but maybe in the future. I guess I should, say it's just me and one other guy.

Little Brother, get this in the hands of 13 year olds everywhere

Little Brother is a young adult novel written by Corey Doctorow. And your going to want to get it in the hands of every 13 year old you know. Give it to your Niece or Nephew or Child Or the neighbor kid. It's about young hackers who take on Homeland security to win back our freedom. Audio link of Cory reading a sample. The book isn't out yet, but if it is like the rest of his books it will probably be available for free on his site, when it is out.
